Feature Artist Reception Honoring April Feature Artist Jana Measures of Malvern, Ohio.
Jana has been drawing and painting since she was very young. After graduating from Springfield High School in Akron she attended Akron University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She worked in the computer field until her daughters were born and then became a " stay at home mom". When her children were grown and the family was living in Bufalo, NY she enrolled at Buffalo State College and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree.
In addition to her life as a non-traditional student, Jana had her own interior design business, Jana Measures, Inc. while in Buffalo. She has put those designing talents to work for her family in designing their home at Lake Mohawk. She is still interested in interior design and is available for consultation.
Jan's show is titled "Four Seasons". " I love creating a moment in time in which the viewer can enter, stay awhile, enjoy the visit and hopefully leave with a smile." She also stated that she feels very fortunate to have her paintings in collections in Ohio, New York, and Vermont.
