Carroll County is home to two Muskingum
Watershed Conservancy District Lakes; Atwood and Leesville
Lakes. The lakes were built in the late 1930’s for flood
control. Both lakes are owned and operated by the District which
is also responsible for managing conservation and recreational
activities. Leesville Lake is a fisherman’s paradise, with record size “muskies” and a population of channel catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie and bluegill. The lake has a 10 horsepower limit. The lake has two marinas which offer boat sales and service, boat rentals, docking, bait and licenses and food service. The marinas also offer over 200 campsites in quiet wooded areas with electric hook-ups. Hunting is permitted is designated areas during state seasons. Ohio licenses are required for hunting, fishing and trapping. Come Experience Our Beautiful Lakes!! |
