Minerva's 10th Annual Oktoberfest

This year's festival will again feature live music, including Minerva's own White Buffalo Woman, food, fine crafts, games and contests for all ages, panning for gold with the Gold Prospectors Association of America, and a wide variety of kids' activities.
The Lost French Gold Craft Beer Motherlode,was a big success last year and will return this year with at least 16 of the region's finest craft breweries.Tickets are $30 presale and $35 at the gate and include 10 5oz. samples, a glass, and a guide to the breweries and their beers. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/l... now or at the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce, beginning this September.
10th Annual Oktoberfest Schedule of Events:
Entries for the Pie-Baking Contest must be submitted between 11am and noon, and there are categories for adults, teens, and youth. There is no charge to enter.
Scarecrows in the Park will be held along Route 30, near the pool, with crows being assembled Friday, September 27, from 5-7pm, and judging taking place Saturday morning at 9am. There are categories for Organizations, Family/Youth, Businesses and Political, and there is no fee to participate. Notify the Chamber office @ 330-868-7979, if you would like to enter a scarecrow.
Band Line-ups: 11:30am-1pm- The Black Diamond Band, playing polkas!; 2pm-4pm- The Willis Gordon Band; and 5pm-7pm- White Buffalo Woman Band.
Sack Races will begin at 1:30pm, with prizes being sponsored by Real Integrity Real Estate Services.
The Duck Race, benefiting renovations at the Roxy Theatre, will take place in the creek at 3pm. Ducks will go on sale for $5 each or five ducks for $20, by the end of the week, so watch for more information. First prize is $200; Second is $100; and Third is $50, with prizes sponsored by AAM-Minerva Manufacturing Facility and Nathan Meadows for Council.
Registration for the Dress Your Dog Contest will open at 3:30pm., with the contest at 4pm. Prizes to the top three best dressed dogs are sponsored by Minerva Bowl, Kohmann's Motors & Mowers, Minerva Music Center, Loudon Motors Ford, Interstate Glass, State Farm Insurance, Minerva Welding, Touch of Class Auto Body, C & E Surplus, Que Pasa, and Minerva Area Federal Credit Union.
The Stein Lifting Contest will follow Dress Your Dog at around 4:30pm. Sign-ups will take place during the festival and the entry fee is $5. Winners of the men's and women's classes will receive a commemorative Oktoberfest stein.
