With many of the Farmers markets starting in May in the area, I wanted to spotlight these local, family-owned agricultural markets. Farmers Markets are much more than places to buy vegetables and fruit- they are community hubs.
They allow local farmers, bakers, and artisans to sell directly to consumers, ensuring freshness and supporting small businesses. In Ohio, these markets often feature seasonal produce, local homemade baked goods, honey, jams, flowers and handcrafted items and more.
Shopping local also means you’re getting your food that is often picked at peak ripeness, making it more flavorful and nutritious. Plus, every purchase helps sustain local agriculture and keeps money within the community.
Let’s Start with our local farmers markets.
